Spring Break

Today has been kind of an awesome day. The kids and I went to get my blood drawn to check my Vitamin D levels. Then we did some shopping. We got some food for lunch and headed to the park to eat and play. It was too windy to eat at the picnic tables, so we ate in the van.
I got my favorite thing to eat - the aptly-named Awesome Wrap with roasted veggies, Cajun-baked tofu, some kind of spicy dressing, lettuce and sprouts. Garrett got the Oat Pecan burger, which he was CRAZY about. This makes me so happy, because I have had trouble finding him vegetarian food that he really likes. And here's the thing: Grace chose some hummus and pita bread over McDonald's food. My heart was like, "Squeeeeeeeeeeee!" Watching her dip those triangles of whole-wheat pita into the hummus was sooooo amazing.

I still had to go through the drive-thru for Drew, of course. But we had a great time, and I finished off what Garrett couldn't eat of his huge burger. After eating, we played on the playground and the kids fed some bread to the geese and ducks in the lake. We met some new people and I took some pictures.

We then got groceries (and new flip-flops for the kids!) and while we were shopping we heard the storm start. It was still going strong when we were finished, and the kids were worried about getting wet. I bought an umbrella...and we headed out the door. We were screaming all the way to the van. I was trying to steer the full cart, hold the umbrella, and see where we were going. The boys were trying to stay under the umbrella. It didn't work very well. I was pretty much soaked by the time I loaded the groceries into the van. But that's OK. I dried off.

Now we're home and I'm exhausted. Time to go relax.
