Grace's Addiction

Today the boys left for the park with a friend and Grace tried to follow them. I just don't trust her to go with them; it scares me. So I told her to stay here, but she ran away. In my socks, pajama pants and t-shirt, I chased her down the street, hoping that none of the neighbors were watching and cursing the gods for the cold winter-like weather. I finally caught up to her, and she was bawling and screaming that she wanted to go. Reaching for something that would convince her to stay home, I said, "Hey, let's go watch Ginger Snaps."

She turned immediately, still bawling. "Okay," she cried, and I carried her back to the house.

I'm not a bad mom, really. There are much worse things I could let my kid watch. As soon as the movie started, she asked me to find the part with the tail. What can I say? It's her favorite thing right now. And it works.
