Yesterday I was in the school cafeteria looking for a snack. The cook told me that next year I should bring in some vegetarian recipes that they could make for the students, and I said I would come up with something. The following conversation really happened.
Lunch lady: Do you drink?
Me: Drink what? (I'm a bit slow)
Lunch lady: Alcohol!
Me: Oh. Not really. (Memories of the last time I drank swam through my mind.)
Lunch lady: Really? Most vegetarians I know are pretty good drinkers.
Me: Uh...okay...
