-Grace has a cold and she has been calling me "Bob" all day. Right now she is begging to eat frosting off a spoon. She got this from me.
-There is a guy on our city council named Robert Smith. He is pretty old and can't hear much of anything. He's not nearly as good looking as Robert Smith from The Cure.
-We had company overnight, friends of the boys. This morning over pancakes the boy (age 10) asked me who I was going to vote for. A thousand thoughts ran through my head. Do I answer him? What will he say? Are his parents hard-core Republicans? Will I hear something about race that will piss me off? I told him Obama. "Yeah, Obama's awesome," he replied. "He's going to give us shorter school days." Oh, yeah. If only this kid could vote.
-I am currently making another attempt at quinoa and black beans. So far, so good. But I really shouldn't be on the computer while it cooks.
- I was thinking about starting a blog just for food. But I don't really make up my own recipes, so is that silly? I got the idea because people are constantly asking me what I eat. A kid at school said, "I would rather eat delicious food and die sooner that eat gross food and live longer." I want the world to know that I don't just eat lettuce, I eat wonderful, nutritious food every day. This conversation came up, by the way, because the student was wearing a T-shirt that said "Do vegetarians eat animal crackers?" I don't normally bring up the subject, but I couldn't resist.
-Does anyone know how to make vegetables in a bamboo steamer??
-Garrett is reading this as I write.
-I have to go check my food.
