Yesterday my Christmas present from my husband arrived in the mail (a bit of a delay on amazon). It's the Bob Dylan Bootleg Series 1-3. I have this on cassette from when I was 17 and my then-boyfriend gave it to me as a birthday present. Three CDs of great, previously unreleased Dylan. And so I opened it and popped it into the computer. What sweetness...the early acoustic years, the melodies, the lyrics. And although I feel really crappy today, I still managed to laugh my ass off when I heard this song for the first time in a long time. One of my favorites, something any Dylan fan will appreciate. Talkin' Bear Mountain Picnic Massacre Blues, an outtake from The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. It would be a lot funnier if it wasn't based on an actual tragedy, but still. Enjoy.
