OK, after that last depressing post I just wanted to express how much joy I am feeling. For the first birthday in many, many years, the sun is shining, the temperature is in the upper 70's, and I feel great. The windows are open, there's a nice breeze, Grace is taking a nap, and I have to write an article. I would rather be outside, but that's OK. I took the kids to the store and bought things to make strawberry shortcakes later, my favorite dessert. OK, I also bought a brownie mix because Drew wanted me to. I put chicken in the slow cooker for the meat eaters, my house is relatively clean, and my jaw does not hurt too bad. There are many things to be grateful for in the world. Here's a list of some things I am loving right now:
1. Fresh fruit. God, there is nothing better in the world.
2. Organic, free-trade coffee. Delicious. And conscientious.
3. The way that Drew picked some bleeding hearts for me in the yard last night, then put then in a plastic container on the kitchen counter and said, "Is it nice?"
4. This new moisturizer I made out of aloe vera gel, pure cocoa butter and jojoba oil. Smells like chocolate.
5. My new deodorant. Oyin Funk Butter. All natural. Highly recommended.
6. The latest CD I made with music by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Franz Ferdinand, The Shins, The Fratellis, and Death Cab for Cutie. I can't get enough of it.
I'm sure there is more, and isn't it crazy to be thankful for your deodorant? Oh well.
