Last year we received a strange card in the mail. It was a Kwanzaa card, a photo card that was a picture of a black cat. That was it. No names. No return address. It was odd to say the least. I don't even know anyone who celebrates Kwanzaa.
I forgot all about this strange card until yesterday. I received a Christmas card in the mail. It had a family picture of a man, woman, and three kids (two boys and a girl). There was also a picture of a dog. I don't recognize the people in the picture. I don't recognize any of their names. There was no return address.
This would have been odd enough, but whoever sent this actually wrote a note on the back of the card. The note said they had a great time with us last summer, and the boys are still talking about it. It's written to us, so there was no mistake there.
I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out who these people are. There is a part of me that thinks I should remember them, but I don't. One would think if we had such a great time together, I would remember it. Todd doesn't remember them either. Neither do the kids. Grace says she knows the little girl from the library, but I think she is talking about another little girl with the same name.
It's nagging on me, because there seems to be something vaguely familiar about a dog named Moses. But perhaps I am just grasping at straws...I would think if they know me well enough to send a Christmas card, I would know them a bit better. I can't think of anything. And if it's a practical joke, how lame is that? Who would waste 49 cents on a stamp and whatever it cost for the card to send out fake holiday wishes? Weird.
Maybe next year we will get a Hanukkah card.

That is sooo weird.... and kind of creepy. Sounds like something from a mystery book..
