Christmastime is Here

I am such a Scrooge when it comes to Christmas. There are so many reasons to dislike this season. It's cold. Snowy. Stressful. Dark. Depressing. There are too many people out in public. It's expensive as hell. I have a ton of stuff to do and absolutely no time to do it. I have too many places to go, people to see, and I can't handle it all.

There are, of course, good things, if you look hard enough...

Hold on, I'm thinking...

Okay. A Charlie Brown Christmas. Wrapping presents while watching It's a Wonderful Life and choking up at the end every time. And of course, 24 hours of A Christmas Story on TV Christmas Eve.

And besides have things to watch on TV, I do enjoy our Christmas break, and spending all that time with the kids. Baking cookies. Eating delicious food with the family. Watching the kids open their presents.

This holiday season is going to be particularly difficult. Maybe the worst one ever, and I have had some doozies in my time. I have spent this morning drinking coffee and putting together pictures to print out and put in a photo album for my grandma for her Christmas gift. There were so many of them with her holding Grace. She looks so good here, so bright and strong and healthy.

I have to get some of that work done now.
