The Way Her Mind Works

Grace is almost four now, but she has yet to figure out how the space/time continuum works. She asks me questions constantly, and some of them actually make me a little dizzy. She always wants to buy baby things for herself for someday when she is a baby again. Here is an example of some things that have come out of her mouth recently:

"Mom, when you were a baby, did I hold you?"
"What color was I when I was born?"
"When I grow up, I'm gonna have a baby, and it will be a boy, and when he grows up, I'll marry him."

Last night she was being a puppy, her favorite thing now. She likes it when I snap my fingers at her to get off the couch and pat her on the head. She drinks water out of a bowl on the floor. And as she fell asleep last night she muttered, "Tomorrow when I get up I might chew some things up."

On Saturday we were visiting my grandma. We were sitting around the table eating some candy and talking when out of nowhere Grace burst out with, "When I die, I might 'splode!" I haven't laughed that hard in months, and I bet my grandma hasn't either.

This morning she said, "How do moms fix everything?"
It's just my job, Grace.
