Oh, Vegan with a Vengeance. How I love thee with your food-stained pages, your burn mark from my stove when you almost caught on fire, your dog-eared corners. The cookbook that never stops giving me amazing food and that makes me feel like I am a well-trained, professional, vegan chef. You have made me look good for guests, you have enabled me to show others that vegan food freaking rocks.
I bought some asparagus to make the Asparagus Sun-dried Tomato Frittata from VWaV. By the time I got around to making it, my asparagus had gone bad. I blame my refrigerator, which has been acting goofy, but it may be because I have been too lazy, stressed, sad, depressed, whatever, to cook real food for the past few weeks. I have officially come out of my slump. I substituted broccoli for the asparagus and all was well. All was really, really well. Cutting up veggies, sauteing them in olive oil, mixing things together...such therapy, such relaxation.
And then the next day I made another new recipe from VWaV. I can't believe I haven't tried the Apple Pie Crumb Cake Muffins before now. Let me just say HOLY SHIT. There are no other words.
This will make me a total loser in the vegan world, but I must confess I have yet to buy Veganomicon, by the same author (Isa Chandra Moskowitz). I have some birthday money, and my dilemma here is should I run out and buy the cookbook, or should I put my money toward a new mp3 player? I seriously don't know what to do. My quality of life has decreased since my mp3 player went to hell. I don't cook as well without my favorite music playing.
I think I'll just get both.

Oh...my...god...that looks fucking delicious. I almost forgot to actually read this entry because I became so enchanted with the photo.
Why, thank you. If you like, I could make it the next time you come over.
