I just found this and it's the coolest thing ever. I recently threw away a bunch of broken little pieces of crayons, and it turns out that I could have recycled them. Apparently, crayons stay in the landfill for a long, long time. I never knew that. So if you have little ones, check out this website: Crazy Crayons. You can order recycled crayons and it will tell you where and how to ship your old ones. I'm pretty sure there are also ways to recycle your own crayons by melting them into neat little molds, so I am going to look into that as well.
